I thought I would share the pictures of the extending table that I bought a couple of weeks ago (the one that has replaced my previous 'new' one ...the one with bits missing, ggrr, which is now being used to entertain guests outside!!).
Not sure if you can remember how the new, 'new' one, looked?
Well, all I did was to make a chalk paint for the base using the French Grey as a base but added more antique white to lighten it and make it slightly 'warmer':
Then it was just a case of waxing and distressing:
I left the top as it was because I always use a table cloth anyway.
The idea of sanding such an area by hand horrified me!!!
Sadly though, the table is smaller than I anticipated.
Even though it is 3 x 6 foot when extended, it cannot comfortably seat up to 8 (I add extra place settings to the ends if entertaining) as the corners are rounded off which makes putting place settings near the end a bit more tricky than I like.
It is doable, I guess, but I prefer not to squish my table settings so I am now on the lookout for a rectangular table to replace it with.
The tables are certainly changing frequently at the moment with the outside tables, my dining table and the chickens feeding station!!!
Still, I will be happier at the end of it all. :)
Shame about the rounded off corners as it is a real solid piece of furniture :(
Ah well.
It just means I get the thrill of buying another table.....
Catch you later x x x
